How we work

The Zamala Journal is an editorial publication. These guidelines describe how we choose, report, and label the stories we run so readers always know what they're reading.

Editorial independence

Features are chosen on merit. Being listed on Zamala does not guarantee coverage, and coverage is never sold. Our editors decide what to publish based on the strength of the work and the story.

Credit and consent

We credit every professional involved in a celebration by name. We publish photos only with the permission of the photographer and the people featured, and we link to sources rather than re-hosting galleries.

Advertising and disclosure

Sponsored placements are always clearly labelled as such (“Sponsored” or “In partnership with”) and are kept separate from editorial content. A sponsorship never buys a feature or influences how a story is reported.

Corrections

When we get something wrong, we fix it. Corrections are made promptly and noted on the article where appropriate. To report an error, contact the editors.
