Review & Content Guidelines
Effective date: July 17, 2026
Last updated: July 20, 2026
Reviews on Zamala help event hosts choose the right Event Pro with confidence, and help great Pros earn the recognition they deserve. These guidelines are part of our Terms & Conditions and explain what belongs in a review, how we moderate, and the rules for both hosts and Pros.
1. Why Reviews Matter
A review is a first-hand account of working with an Event Pro. It is one of the most valuable signals a host has when deciding who to trust with their celebration. Because reviews carry real weight, we ask everyone to keep them honest, specific, and fair.
2. Who Can Leave a Review
Anyone with a Zamala account can review an Event Pro they have genuinely worked with — whether the booking happened through Zamala or before the Pro joined the platform. Many Pros share their review link with past clients; if that’s you, welcome! Sign up (it’s free) and share your first-hand experience.
Reviews from hosts who hired the Pro through Zamala carry a “Verified booking” badge, so readers can tell which reviews come from bookings we can confirm.
You cannot review your own business, and you can leave one review per Event Pro (you can edit it later). Reviews must reflect a real, first-hand experience — reviews written in exchange for payment, discounts, or other incentives are not allowed (see Section 4). Review text may be automatically analyzed (including by AI) for moderation and quality purposes — see our Privacy Policy, Section 12.
3. What Makes a Good Review
- Describe what actually happened and how it went.
- Be specific — communication, quality, professionalism, value, and the overall experience.
- Be fair and constructive, even when the experience fell short.
- Keep it your own words and your own experience.
4. Prohibited Content
Reviews must not contain:
- False, fabricated, or misleading statements, or reviews of an experience that did not happen.
- Reviews bought, sold, incentivized, or written on someone else’s behalf.
- Retaliatory or coordinated reviews intended to harm a business’s reputation unfairly.
- Harassment, hate speech, threats, or discriminatory language.
- Private or personal information about any individual (yours or someone else’s).
- Spam, advertising, or off-topic content.
5. Event Pro Responses
Event Pros may publicly respond to reviews of their business. A response is a chance to add context or thank a client — it must follow the same standards as reviews. Responses that harass a reviewer, reveal private information, or contain prohibited content (Section 4) may be removed, and repeated violations may affect the Pro’s account.
6. Moderation & Removal
Zamala does not edit the substance of reviews, and a critical review is not removed simply because a business dislikes it. We may hide or remove a review or response that violates these guidelines or our Terms & Conditions.
If you believe a review or response breaks these guidelines, contact us (Section 8) with the details. We review reports and may hide the content while we investigate. Decisions are made at Zamala’s reasonable discretion.
7. Requesting Reviews
Event Pros may invite past clients to leave a review through Zamala. When you request a review, only contact people you have genuinely worked with, and only at addresses they’ve shared with you for this purpose. Do not offer payment or incentives in exchange for a review, and do not send unsolicited bulk messages — you are responsible for complying with applicable law, including Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL).
